Aquatennial Fireworks

I always look forward to the annual Minneapolis Aquatennial fireworks display; I mean, watching over 10,000 pounds of fireworks rocket into the air synchronized to music is pretty awesome. Situated on the shores of the Mississippi River, along the Minneapolis skyline and historic mill district provides a perfect backdrop to the 5th largest display in the country.

For more than 30 minutes, streams of sparks rocketed into the air - in a display that lived up to its reputation and “felt like” a grand finale the whole time! When the last minutes of the performance were sadly reached, dozens of last shots fired captivating the hundreds of thousands of onlookers one last time and produced plenty of: noise, light, and smoke in some sort of funnily organIzed chaos to solidify this production as one of the best in the country.

The crowds were intense, as always, but on a picture perfect evening there isn’t much to complain about except: this celebration of summer only can mean one thing…that winter is right around the corner (doh!). In the meantime I’ll just look forward to the next Minnesota milestone: the State Fair - I’m already nervous about the number of calories I’ll consume, probably best not to think about that!

Ugh. And why does that street light have to be there?!

Doggies…

Here’s the thing. I’m a dog person. Or maybe it’s more like I’m developing dog tendencies (joking, but not really….I do love my back and head scratched!)? Getting back to the point dogs just love me, and I don’t know what it is! I grew up with several family pets for most of my childhood life, and having a dog (or two!) is absolutely on my near term roadmap - it’s just currently hard with my travel schedule.

In the meantime I’m living through my Uncle’s family dog, Kebo - a minature golden doodle, what an amazing breed and totally adorable?! Other than her personality is bigger than life- she’s pretty great

I’ll visit Kebo often, and upon each arrival I’m greeted with outright screeching of excitement…you’d think I was hurting her! But the unconditional love and excitement is so special when a dog is attached to you.

There’s one thing you can count on: This won’t be the last time you see Kebo….

And this is Kebo! Co-captains of the pontoon boat.
